Yesterday we packed up and got out of Kingman Wash before the weekend. We thought it may get really busy and be dangerous to get out on the narrow, often one lane width road ,with weekenders coming down the road into the wash. We relocate to Crabby Wash just on the outskirts of Lake Havasu City. We had stopped coming here for years as the homeless had moved in and were leaving trash everywhere and it didn't feel safe anymore. Chris read on a forum that it had been cleaned up and now they have a campground host enforcing 14 day stay limits. It turns out to be a great place to stay for our time here.
Today we head to Castle Rock Bay. We hope to kayak the gorge from Topock to Castle Bay but we need to find where we would exit the Colorado River from in order to end our trip. it is said to be a 15 mile run with 3 mph of current. We hope it will take us about 4-5 hours.
