Cottonwood Mansion - Town of Jarvis Disc golf

Monarch butterflies

The morning starts with a walk about Selkirk Provincial Park. We find a colorful bush filled with Monarch's. They are not clustered, but there are about 15 or so all within a couple meters. Very nice.

Cottonwood Mansion circa 1860
We do another driving tour of the area and our first stop is at the Cottonwood Mansion. It's a 6000 square foot, Italianate-style red brick mansion built around 1860.

Dining room original furniture
It was abandoned for nearly 80 years until 1988 when a restoration project began and it is now a living museum with 15 rooms featuring the homes original contents.

Disc golf course in the Town of Jarvis, ON

Next it's on to the Town of Jarvis for a round of disc golf. Good thing we have the course to ourselves as it is a bit confusing so we end up playing about 15 holes as we zig and zag through the disc golf baskets. Chris gets a couple holes in just two throws but no holes-in-one.

The Greens Lighthouse
We meander some more and eventually land back at the RV where I take a bike ride along the scenic water front road. It's a really nice ride offering views of Lake Erie and cottage life. Pretty sweet place. One home offers a fun lighthouse complete with buttons to push to sound fog horns.

Eventually I come to a bridge over a dry creek where the turning leaves are gorgeous in the late day sun.

Fall is in the air :)

Another day down in the books. I'm looking forward to moving on tomorrow.
