Kingston outing - good thing we love this place :)

YGK = Kingston in airport terminology :)

Basically a day out and about. First we head to Fort Henry. We visited the fort last year so this year we just do a walk about the outside grounds for some nice views of Lake Ontario.

There is a waterfront trail we follow for a bit until we come to the restricted military grounds. Along the trail out of now where appear this garden of poppies. So colourful.

Water hitting the wall in front of us

It is a super windy day so we head to Portsmouth Harbour and park right at the cement wall and watch the waves hit the wall in front of us. I get a pretty good shot of the water but naturally the best wet water is when my camera is down.

We head to the Kingston Brewing Company in search of good beer on tap.

So far it has been lots of Alexander Keith and Rickards Red....boring. This is exactly what we are looking for. Established in 1986, it is Ontario's oldest brew pub.

There are 28 taps with signature ales like Dragon's Breath. Yum

A conversation breaks out with a couple of locals sitting in their usual corner. Larry (a retired prison superintendent) and Lisa (a remedial teacher of troubled kids) welcome us with open arms and we have a great evening swapping stories back and forth.
