Appalachian Mountains
A driving day today as we head west along highway 132 of the Gaspe Peninsula. We are skirting the Appalachian Mountains, where the International Trail we hiked on in Forillon National park goes through. They are a bit more like big hills compared to our Rocky Mountains but they are still beautiful.

Next thing we know we are in New Brunswick :)
Campbellton, New Brunswick is the city immediately on the other side of the bridge and we stop for groceries.

Jacquet River Salmon hatchery
While in the Atlantic Superstore buying groceries, the seafood counter employee named Hector starts to talk about the fresh Atlantic salmon. He suggests we visit the Jacquet River Salmon fish hatchery on our way to Bathhurst NB. We make the stop as it's just a short way off our highway.

Alevin - newly hatched salmon
It's a small operation trying to monitor the salmon population and will eventually add these little guys to the river when they get to 'fry' size.
Signs about moose on the road are constant. We have had a long drive and want to get to our stop for the next three nights without seeing any of these giants.
Finally we pull into Kouchibouguac National Park...that's a wrap for today.
