Dragoon Mountains hike

Today we drive a short distance from Tom and Kathi's house and do a hike in the Dragoon Mountains. It is a combinations of trails that meander through this shockingly beautiful landscape that actually makes me feel like we are in Africa at times. The red rock mountains with the long, flowing yellow grass is stunning.

Yucca plant spear towers among the rocks.

Shimmering yellow grass :)

Cute rock face.

Lunch spot in the shade.

Thankfully it was only 24 degrees today so the 7.5 km hike is just a great outing. We don't want to be tired for our last night together.

Our rig in their yard - complete with site 8 post from Kofa.

Tom and Kathi's new home/yard.

Sitting out enjoying our last sundowner together. T&K have water bins around their property for the wildlife in the area. From all sorts of birds, to deer, mountain lions and who knows what else in the night, they find water here. Just as the sun is close to setting is such a wonderul time on their front deck. It's like sitting watching a bird sanctuary come to life as the quail, cardinals, blue birds etc come out for the day after the heat.

Red Cardinal enjoying a drink.

T&K's pupper Gus. So sweet.
