Courtney / Comox - Museum + Canadian Snowbird Pilots + Marlise our past Cochranite friend

It's a cooler day so we decide to head into Courtney / Comox to poke about and take in a couple museums. We spend sometime in the Courtney & District Museum. It's a collection of many First Nations pieces and art (no photos allowed) plus oddly enough a good collection of dinosaur bones and archeological finds.

Museum with a bit of everything :)

Later in the day the Canadian Snowbirds pilot team is signing autographs in a meet the Snowbirds event at the Comox Airforce Museum. Apparently every May they come here to train to experience some varied topography. The joke is in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan where they regularly train, you can watch your dog run away for 3 days, so a few mountains is a nice change...lol  We head over and Chris talks a bit with one of the mechanics and we do a quick tour of the war museum.

Then we have plans to meet our friend Marlise (past Cochranite we just visited in Nanaimo) for a picnic at Kin Beach, Comox. The weather is turning a bit nasty but it doesn't stop us from heating up her chili and we enjoy a meal before heading to a local pub for a beer and live music.

Warm chili hits the spot :)

We have a quick beer at the pub but the musician don't show up so we head back to Kitty Coleman and have a fire and fun till quite late.

Enjoying our first warm fire under cover.
