Headed into Port Alberni for the day to check out the quay and boat storage prices as it's only about 1.5 hours from Barkley Sound at 10 knots on a boat! Maybe boat ownership will be in our stars one day again :)
Port Alberni appears to be a sleepy little town, which lies about 55 km up the Alberni Inlet, inland from the Barkley Sound. Mount Arrowsmith towers behind the town, the same mountain we marveled at from Parksville on the other side of the island.

We head up a road a local told us about and Chris gives fishing a go. No luck today but very nice spot.
