Adios Lake Talon - on to Oastler Lake Provincial Park and Lake Joseph, Ontario

Getting ready to roll

After work this morning we start packing up and get ready to roll. It has been such a nice past couple of days. Memories for us at "grandmajanescottage".

Jean and John - until we meet again

We thank our wonderful hosts, John and Jean, and hit the road. It was truly a pleasure to meet you and we so appreciate your kindness.

Once on the road  south of North Bay, we are seeing signs for Ottawa and Toronto. WE ARE DOING IT.....this is one big beautiful country and we really have put on some miles since the end of April where our trip started in BC. We feel our pace is pretty good, generally at least 2 nights per stop giving us a full day to explore the area. Many places we have booked for a week others 3 days. It's going well.

We take neither exit and continue south for now.

Our home for next 2 nights
Chris booked us into Oastler Lake Provincial park this morning, 10 minutes from Party Sound on the Georgian Bay. We had left a couple days slack before our booking in Algonquin to see where the wind would take us. Over the past couple days there was talk about the Parry Sound and Muskoka area so we decide to see what is there.

Sani-dump hand wash station - a first :)

Prior to setting up we need to dump black and grey water plus take on fresh water. This is up-scale, a hand wash station right at the sani-dump. Usually I come out with soap and paper towel for Chris to use after the job is done.

Just the boat house - main home is behind the trees
Once set up we decide to head to Joseph Lake in the Municipality of Muskoka and launch our kayaks. It's one of the 'big three' in Muskoka along with Lake Rosseau and Lake Muskoka. Lake Joseph is known for its wealth and presence of prominent individuals who choose the area as a luxurious retreat. We have read about the 'Billionaires Row' area and are unsure if we are exactly kayaking in that area, but we get the picture of the utter opulence of the lake now matter where you are on it.

The lake's stunning scenery, clear waters and secluded coves attract wealthy families from Toronto and beyond. Kevin O'Leary is on the lake somewhere.

Canadian Shield at its best

Very nice home with the boat house on the right

We kayak around several islands and then the sun is getting low so we head back to our truck. The sun is hitting this beautiful home making it look surreal.

Feet up relaxing on Lil Blue
Heading back to the truck Chris is riding super relaxed with his feet up and enjoying the sights.

Back to the RV for a chill night.
