Chris and Craig at The White Cliffs
After breakfast the plan is to go for a kayak on Lake Kagawong. The wind is up a bit and there are small white caps, which makes the paddle into the wind across the lake a fairly tough paddle. We head straight across the lake to a small bay and then continue south west into Long Bay. We slowly paddle by the limestone white cliffs, which offer all sorts of interesting formations.

Once at the far end of Long Bay we circle around and come back via the opposite shore. Now the wind has dropped and is on our backs so we can easily paddle home side by side and have a great time chatting away. The sun is dancing off the rocks below the water making it all quite magical.
Craig and Chris look on a map later and figure we paddled 11 or 12 kms.

Georgia sleuthing out ducks
Once back at the dock we all go for a refreshing swim after all that paddling. Even Georgia joins us and shows us she can climb the ladder out of the water onto their dock. What a great dog she is :)
Maurianne suggests a ploughman lunch, which I have never heard of, but it's basically a classic cold meal where we bring out breads, cheeses, hummus, oysters and whatever else we have to share in the fridge.

Gore Bay Marina
Next we hop in their car and drive over to Gore Bay, which is a popular location for boaters and sailors, especially those wanting to explore the North Channel of Lake Huron. It turns out Craig and Maurianne have gone out sailing before so we all enjoy walking the waterfront and looking at boats.

One always has to have some fun with the big red chairs all over Canada.

Craft Chocolate - yum
An some more fun in the chocolate shop buying dessert for tonight.

Maurianne, Georgia and Craig
And some more fun at The Split Rail Brewing Company where we all enjoy local craft beer.
Before heading home we do a tour of the town's nice old landmark buildings and then drive up to the viewpoint look out for a last glimpse of Gore Bay.

Craig, Chris and Sheila making dinner
Back at the house it is our turn to prepare dinner for tonight. The music plays as we work in this spacious kitchen with our sous chef, Craig, helping in any way we need. Maurianne actually gets to sit at their counter and take it all in.
After dinner we sit in comfy chairs, enjoy more great music and eventually everyone's eyes start to close. We all agree the chocolate cake from Gore Bay will accompany coffee/tea on their deck in the morning.
