Working on books
We just get hooked up and underway heading towards 'The Town of Placentia' and we have to pull into a mall as it is raining so hard it's unsafe to travel. Oh well, we use it as an opportunity to get caught up on books etc.

Our Final Historic Site
Finally the rain stops and we can make the trip out to where we will catch the ferry off Newfoundland tomorrow. We have seen a lot of old forts along the way, but we decide to make a quick stop at the 'Castle Hill National Historic Site'.

French and British fortifications
Perched above the town of Placentia is the remains of French and British fortifications from the late 17th to the early 19th centuries.

Ferry off Newfoundland tomorrow
We were told we can boon-dock for the night at the Placentia Bay rest area so we are heading that way.

Placentia Bay lift bridge
|
Placentia Bay at night
We are happy to find we can back right onto the water for our final night. What a treat.
When we look at the map of Newfoundland, we are pleased and shocked to see how much of this island we covered in 35 days. It has been an amazing province we truly hope to return to one day.
