| Headquarters in New Brunswick |
On the road early and shortly into the drive we come upon the 'McCain Foods' headquarters as we pass through Florenceville-Bristol.

| Interesting roads in New Brunswick |
We love driving the scenic 105 highway, but it certainly goes in and out of rough, narrow sections. Chris jokes that at least New Brunswick tries to fill their potholes :)
We arrive in the Town of Grand Falls for a late breakfast and then head out to see what the town is famous for...the Grand Falls :)
 |
| Grand Falls Dam |
It is the largest waterfall east of Niagara Falls where the St. John river drops 23 meters (75 feet) into a dramatic 1.5 kilometre gorge.
 |
| Grand Falls gorge |
Being the fall season, the gates of the hydroelectric dam are closed so there isn't much water coming through for us today but the gorge itself is very dramatic.

| State of Maine, USA across the river |
About 10 minutes out of Grand Falls, the St. John river is now the border between Canada and the state of Maine in the USA.

| Welcome to Quebec :) |
Back on the road and we cross the border into Quebec. We are now driving the TCH and the leaves on the trees are starting to turn. In a week or 10 days the entire valley will be red...it's already so gorgeous.
The town of Riviere du Loop by the early afternoon. This is of huge significance to us as this is where we took a ferry across to from Saint-Simeon this past June and headed east along the Gaspe Peninsula. It feels like we have really closed a loop and are officially heading home :)
 |
| Falls in Parc des Chutes |
The afternoon is spent doing a hike at 'Parc des Chutes' and then walk on the waterfront where the ferry departs from.
