Joel and Victoria Wedding Rehearsal and Dinner - Dvele Inn, St. John's Newfoundland

LET THE CELEBRATION BEGIN :)

Dvele Inn, St. John's
We spend the morning packing everything we will need for Joel and Victoria's wedding. All the special clothes, shoes, jewelry etc that we packed into the trailer back in May, needs to arrive at the Dvele Inn in downtown St. John's.

Thankfully Victoria and her mom have largely shaken the fever and cold that was gripping them a couple days earlier:)

Joel and Victoria wanted an immediate family only wedding, so there are 10 people (5 couples) attending. Parents, a sibling each and the siblings partners plus Joel and Victoria. The Dvele Inn is a luxury, boutique hotel with seven distinct guest rooms that fits us all perfectly. The wedding dress gets its own room as no one is allowed to see it before the big day, except Victoria and her mom :)

Victoria and Joel - great couple

We arrive in time to unload, get settled in our room and get ready for the wedding rehearsal. Currently there are two wedding plans (A&B) Plan A is getting married on the 'East Coast Trail', while Plan B is getting married right here in the Dvele Inn. The final decision for which plan will be made tomorrow morning at 10 am - all weather dependent. They are hoping for the East Coast Trail.

Victoria is wearing her mother's wedding dress at the rehearsal and they both look amazing :)

Seating for 10 in The Vault
After the rehearsal, we all catch an uber to 'The Merchant Tavern' in downtown St. John's. Our private dinner tonight is inside the historic building's original bank vault. Very cool.

It's such a great evening with everyone getting to know each other and enjoying great food and drinks.

A couple weeks back, Victoria's mom, Ann, sent out an invite to 'VidDay', which is an online platform to collect video messages, photos and wishes from family and friends. It is basically a digital guestbook. We send it out to family and friends all over the world and WOW what a response - just over 30 minutes of well wishes. It is so special to see the grandma each of them have alive, aunt's and uncles, cousins, friends from the past and even Spanish greetings from Joel's exchange family all those years ago.

Thankfully the vault is equipped with a huge screen so the VidDay video is presented to them tonight. They had no idea this was coming and they were beyond grateful...truly a special keepsake for them.

This was our addition to the VidDay guestbook :)
