Dynamite Multipurpose Trail
The Dynamite trail goes right from where we are staying to the Town of Mahone Bay. It's another abandoned railway, 'Rails to Trails' project, which is part of the larger 'Rum Runner Trail' connecting Halifax to Lunenburg.

We ride the trail to Indian Point and then get on the road following the shore into town.

The Town of Mahone Bay is a picturesque, historic Nova Scotia coastal town. We largely spend the day poking about the town founded in 1754.

There is a Faerie Trail complete with a secret garden. All very colorful.

Water refill and ginger molasses cookie for energy
When we are ready to head home, we take off on a bike trail we thought was our Dynamite Trail home. After about 35 minutes of pretty hard cruising, we stop and check where we are. Turns out we took a wrong turn at Albuquerque and we are going the wrong direction towards Bridgewater. We are out of water so we stop at this little store and buy a cookie for energy and the kind girl refills water bottles.

We both miss the arrow to Dynamite Trail
Once back at Mahone Bay we see the sign we cycled right past...oops
Our expected 25 km ride for the day turned into 44 kms :)
