| Blue Rocks Point |
Today we put the kayaks in at Blue Rocks Point. It is a picturesque, time-worn fishing village famous for its golden seaweed and calm maze of islands.

After our kayak we load up and then sit in the sun on the beach and eat our picnic lunch.
We make sure we have the radio on COV 88.7 this afternoon wondering if Rachel the volunteer DJ we met the other night in Chester will do a shout out to us. Too funny but she does indeed mention us and I record it...listen carefully.
Just down the road is the vibrant port town of Lunenburg. Founded in 1753, it is a UNESCO site for best surviving example of a British colonial settlement in North America.

The town is famous for its steep, straight streets lined with perfectly preserved, brightly painted 18th and 19th century wooden houses.
It is deeply rooted in Maritime history and the birthplace of the Bluenose schooner, featured on the Canadian dime. We'll be back here in a couple days to actually go for a sail on her :)
The Bluenose is not in port today as she is actually sailing back from Boston right now.

We are super happy when Gerrit sends us a picture of their new puppy...what a sweetie who is yet to be named.
