FIFA final in Chester, Nova Scotia

Sailing capital of the Maritimes :)
The entire morning and mid afternoon is spent getting caught up on things in the trailer.

Late afternoon we head back to the Town of Chester. Frequently referred to as the 'Sailing Capital of the Maritimes' as it sits in protected waters with proximity to the 365 islands of Mahone Bay. Founded in 1759, it is deeply rooted in yachting culture and has been a popular summer resort for the wealthy since the 1800's.

We talk on the dock of the Chester Yacht Club with an old racing sailor and his son. The son had won the Canadian Laser championship over 10 years ago.

Tall Ships ale - yum
We head back to the Fo'c'sle Pub at 4 pm for the final FIFA match between Spain and Argentina. We watched Argentina defeat England here a few days ago. It is fully reserved but we squish into a couple seats at the bar and enjoy the match plus the people around us.

Fun crowd to watch the game with

Spain 1  -  Argentina 0
Thankfully Spain prevails with a 1-0 win over Argentina :) They deserve the win as they had 65% possession of the ball plus 20 shots vs Argentina's 2. The Argentina goalie deserved a gold medal otherwise it would have been a much higher score for Spain.

Spain - World Cup Champions
