Today is a chill catch-up with work day as we await our ferry from PEI to Nova Scotia.
Northumberland Ferries has been operating between PEI and Nova Scotia for 85 years. The seasonal service operates across The Northumberland Strait from May 1st to December 20th each year. (Confederation Bridge is the only year-round on/off island service)

| Bow Visor up for loading |
When the ferry docks, the 'mouth of the ferry' officially known as the bow visor lifts up completely for loading and unloading vehicles. Once loaded, the bow visor lowers to create a seal, which makes the vehicle deck entirely watertight. It is calm on our crossing but we imagine it can get rough out there sometimes.

It's a 75 minute crossing and before we know it we are navigating up the channel to Caribou, Nova Scotia..our 9th province :)

We pull into Caribou-Munroes Provincial Park where we will spend the next couple nights.
