Fundy National Park Golf Course
We discovered last night there is a beautiful little 9 hole golf course right here in the national park. It was designed by 'Stanley Thompson' and built in 1948 so it's been around for a long time. Stanley Thompson has designed 144 courses in Canada including the Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course. We feel quite impressed to be out here at a fraction of the cost of the Banff course...lol.

Lovely golf course
There are elevated tee boxes, rolling fairways and really nice views. We both are happy that our golf game is at a point where we can golf courses like this and feel good about our play.

Canada Day cake
After golf we head into the Town of Alma to see what activities are going on. It's pretty low key but we enjoy a piece of Canada Day cake.

High tide Bay of Fundy
We walk out onto Joel's Point and find a rock with a back rest to watch the water hit high tide around 2:15 in the afternoon.

Alma Lobster Shop
Around 6 pm we head to the Alma Lobster Shop for supper and enjoy some locally caught fish and chips. It's a cute shop with lots of local artists'paintings.

Low tide Bay of Fundy - 7:50 pm
After supper it is getting close to low tide so we head back to the same spot as this afternoon and retake a picture. Joel's rock is high and dry - literally no water to enter the harbour.

New Brunswick flag
A local New Brunswick artist named 'Shane Douthwright' was supposed to put on a concert in the outdoor skating rink with fireworks to follow but both are cancelled for reasons unknown to us. Darn...
We decide to pop into Tipsy Tails as there is supposed to be karaoke tonight. Lucky us, it turns out karaoke is out and Shane Douthwright is now playing here rather than the outdoor rink.

Shane Douthwright performing with his wife tonight
It is a wonderful evening as Shane Douthwright turns out to be an award-winning Canadian country music, singer-songwriter from Moncton, New Brunswick. His music is deeply rooted in the people, places and stories of Atlantic Canada.
Happy 159th Birthday Canada - Our True North Strong and Free :)
