| Two well known Alberta names |
As we come onto the highway heading to the small town of Trinity, we see this sign and wonder if we are back in Alberta :) Out hear the Trans Canada Highway is often referred to as the 'TCH'.

Trinity is one of Newfoundland's oldest fishing settlements from the 1500's. It grew into a major salt-fish merchant hub by the 1700's. Due to economic decline when major merchant firms withdrew after 1850, many of the towns prominent 19th-century building fell into neglect and risk of collapse.

In 1964, realising what was at risk, the local residents stepped in and created a preservation ethic that turned the town into one of Canada's greatest historic success stories.
There is a nice walking trail that encompasses both the town streets and coastal views so we get a really good feel for the place.

We have the local church to ourselves so we pretend to get married again...lol.

Later in the afternoon we head to the 'Skerwink Trail' for the highly rated coastal hike. It is actually ranked in the 'Travel & Leisure' magazine as one of the top 35 hikes in North America. Quite impressive.
There are dramatic cliffs and sea stacks along boardwalks, stairs and coastal terrain. At one point we are directly across from Trinity looking at the other side of the Admiral's Lighthouse.
